After italling my Aprilaire 800 and the Aprilaire humidistat 62 that came with it, I found that the seor on the back of the humidistat did't get far enough into the duct to get through the duct iulation and into the air stream. This lead to the humidistat never getting the correct humidity, in my case the house was at 30% RH and the # 62 displayed between 57% and 66% RH. Not wanting to drill yet another hole in my return air plenum, I made this extention for the seor. In theory it should pass a small amount of the air in the aipace over the duct seor. it mounts from the outside of the duct and goes through the iulation into the air flow. It is symetrical, so as long as the openings align with the air flow it should work. I simply put it through the hole on the duct, ( I used a uni-bit to open the hole up a bit) aligned it with the airflow and calked it in place and mounted the humidistat over it. It has been working great, and my #62 is getting a correct reading from the return air plenum now. I printed it in ABS with 2mm laye. I don't have any pictures of it, I put it in to test it, it worked and I don't intend to remove it. As always I uploaded the SKP file for it, in the event someone wants to modify it for their application.
