This is a chess set ipired by the ships of the Star Trek TV Series.
This design has a modular top with a pin and hole connection. This will allow you to pick and choose which ship goes on which chess piece.
I have a magnetic chess board so I incorporated a 13mm Diameter x 5mm Depth hole on the bottom of the base to fit a 12.8mm Diameter magnet. You can just leave this as the balance of the chess piece is not affected.
Shout out to jonruy for the low poly Defiant, Cotitution, Galaxy, and Intrepid class ship models.
Also shout out to fernandolima for the low poly Discovery.
All of these models were edited. Every ship but the Defiant I cut off the midsection and Warp nacelle's. I also added the pin connector to the undeide of each ship.
Printer settings - FDM
Layer Height: 0.1 for the ships, 0.1-0.2 for the bases.
Infill: 15% minimum
Supports: Yes, Make sure to have an easy to take off support setting for the ships. Some of the support settings on my printer made them hard to remove and I ended up damaging the ships.
