Hi Everyone!
Contained within this thing is a fully functional trolling/jigging fishing rod and reel. This work is a collaborative artwork between Lauren Prado (Itagram: @Findinglolo) and myself Josh Hughes (Itagram: @JoshuaHughesArtist). This fishing rod and reel was tested while we worked collaboratively at Caldera Artist Residency in Siste, Oregon.
It was our goal to create an avenue for new ideas in relation to ownehip, creation, remix culture, and popular coumer society, by asking one simple yet important question: What happe when coumer objects such as a fishpole, an artwork or a lure become nothing more than data, and that data is shared around the world for free?
The pole itself in this example is printed in Photo-Pasta Carbon Fiber HTPLA, and assembled with Loctite Professional Super Glue (another good glue to use would be a 2 part epoxy resin if you have the time to allow it to cure over night).
The reel:
What you will need to assemble the reel:
10 x Machine Screws with Nuts
5 x 7mm x 16mm Standard Skateboard Bearings
1 x 1mm x 3mm Hobby Brass Rod

I have also attached a .step and .iges for anyone wanting to improve this design.
