A mecanum wheel is a type of omnidirectional wheel that enables a vehicle to move in any direction without changing its orientation. It coists of rolle mounted at an angle (typically 45 degrees) around the wheel's circumference. These rolle allow the wheel to generate lateral (sideways) movement when combined with other mecanum wheels on a platform, such as a robot. By controlling the speed and direction of each wheel independently, the vehicle can perform complex movements, including strafing, diagonal motion, and rotation. Mecanum wheels are commonly used in robotics and material-handling systems.
